My journey began because I just wanted to walk again.

When I was approaching my 40th birthday, I was also approaching 300 pounds. At 4’10’’, I weighed 295 pounds and wore a size 30. As I am approaching my 42nd birthday, I weigh 157 pounds and wear a size 5. My life has changed so much over the last two years, it’s almost like a dream when I look back. I can’t believe what an amazing journey this has been with Nuviva and Jeremy from the Orlando weight loss clinic.

My journey began because I just wanted to walk again. I went from being morbidly obese and wheelchair bound to training three times a week with a trainer and gearing up to running a marathon in January; from not being able to walk or wear regular shoes to dancing in heels on Friday night.

I was on short-term disability due to my obesity and depression, I could not perform simple tasks as outlined in my job description. I used a wheelchair and a walker as my body simply couldn’t support my weight. I was clinically depressed, I was on the verge of having a heart attack and I just wasn’t me anymore. I couldn’t be a wife to my husband and I couldn’t be a mother to our special needs son.

I decided one day it was time to change. I told myself my life wasn’t over at 40 and it is never too late to reinvent yourself. I began looking at weight loss programs online and found Nuviva. Compared to other programs, Nuviva offered everything I needed and was a fully comprehensive program with the support I knew I needed.

Week after week the pounds came off. Soon I got off my blood pressure medicine, then I began walking more and exercising more. I weaned myself off my other medications and started to feel like myself again.

Our son is autistic and needs constant supervision and love. I was at the point I couldn’t play with him or really even care for him anymore. It was one of my greatest joys when I finally felt like a mother again and had the energy and physical ability to care for him.
