Dr. Jean-Jacque Vel received his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology from University of Central Florida. He received his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University. He completed his internal medicine residency at Palmetto General Hospital in Miami. He his a big advocate for preventative care and healthy weight loss for his patients. In his time off he enjoys watersports, sailing, scuba diving, traveling and enjoying time with friends and family.

Ryan Knake, PA

Ryan was raised in the Detroit area before he became a SWFL resident. Ryan attended Oakland University for his undergrad where he received his bachelors in exercise physiology and kinesiology. He ramped up his career quickly in personal training, working with Olympic and professional athletes. After being sponsored by his mentor and friend, Dr. Dozeretz, he received his Master’s Degree in the Physician’s Assistant Program. In addition to his passion for his career, he loves to travel and enjoy the outdoors with his wife and children.

Chip Acker

James "Chip" Acker is a Florida native from Sanibel Island. Health and Wellness has been a major part of Chip's life since his early days in sports and fitness. Chip started his professional career in the fitness industry as a licensed personal trainer where he helped his clients understand and maximize their efforts and results. Chip later began to work with Nuviva Medical Weightloss in 2011 as a Nutrition Coach in the Punta Gorda office. After bringing his energy and talents to the Fort Myers Clinic Nutrition Coach position, Chip is now a Co-Owner of the practice. Chip has helped thousands of people just like you achieve their goals and looks forward to working with you!

Anthony Fisher

A firefighter/paramedic from Chicago, in 2016 Anthony decided to move to Southwest Florida. He has a lifelong passion for fitness and nutrition, training people and providing nutrition plans early in his career has given him over 15 years of experience in health and wellness. Anthony continued following that path running personal training departments at multiple gyms. In 2019, he launched an athletic performance department for Apex Physical Therapy, where his interest in helping people in a different way accelerated. A licensed Paramedic and certified in strength and conditioning, nutrition, mobility, and Rehab corrective exercise led him to Nuviva Medical Weight Loss. At Nuviva, he found it was the perfect mixture of the medical field and fitness industry.

As one of the Nutrition coaches at the Fort Myers location, he helps educate patients with their dietary needs and providing them a way to permanently change their lifestyle and hit their weight loss goal. Anthony is excited to help you on your weight loss journey.
