Your shipment will also contain:

This package will arrive via UPS or FedEx and will contain everything you will need to start the program and be on your way to success. Please be sure to open the package and open all packets, including the cold package inside, to ensure you’ve received everything you are expecting. Please double check all packaging materials before throwing anything away.

The Semaglutide or Tirzepatide will be shipped cold but may arrive warm, and that’s okay. These medications are not very sensitive and can be exposed to warm conditions for a few days per pharmacy stability tests. Please put your medication the refrigerator upon delivery. The B12 or BioBoost will not be cold and should not be kept cold.

Please note, we send two different size syringes in this package. The 30G 1ml 5/16 in syringes are intended to be used for your Semaglutide or Tirzepatide injections and the 29G 1ml ½ in syringes will be used for your B12 or BioBoost injections.

Semaglutide or Tirzepatide: This medication is shipped from the pharmacy in a cold pack to you. The cold pack needs to be opened, and you will need to remove the medication from the packet. The medication may not arrive cold and the ice packets may have melted in transit. That is okay. Both Semaglutde and Tirzepatide are very stable at warm temperature for a few days, so please do not worry if this is not cold upon delivery.

Once you remove the medication from the cold packet, put the medication into the refrigerator and discard of the cold packet and ice packs if you wish.

B12 (BioBoost): The B12 (BioBoost) will arrive and is not in the cold packet nor should it be kept cold. Please put the vial of the BioBoost in a room temperature dark place like a cabinet or drawer. Do not remove this from the box it arrives in until you are ready for your first injection. We suggest to always return the vial to the small box it arrives in after each use to protect the vial from the UV light as well as protect the vial from shattering in the event you drop it on the floor.

You will receive 2 different types of syringes. These syringes will look very similar, so it’s important to distinguish between the two.

Semaglutide or Tirzepatide syringes
These syringes will have a shorter needle - 30G 5/16 in 1ml

B12 (Bioboost) syringes
These syringes will have a longer needle - 27G ½ in 1mlT

How to properly draw your medication into injections

The Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, and B12 BioBoost vials will come with a hard plastic seal on the tops of the vials. You must remove this cap by simply pressing it up with your thumb until it pops off. These tops do not need to be put back on once they are removed.

• It is important to clean the rubber top of the vials before use and each time you insert the needle into the vial to avoid any bacteria from contaminating the medication.

• The rubber tops have a small circle in the middle, like a bullseye on a dart board. This bullseye is where you will insert the needle to draw out the medication into the syringe.

• Select the correct syringe for the correct product (30G is for Semaglutide or Tirzepatide and 27G is for the B12/BioBoost).

• Remove the orange caps from the syringe on both the top and the bottom. Once you remove the orange caps you will have exposed the needle and the plunger.

• Insert the needle into the center (bullseye) of the rubber top of the medication vial you are using.

• Turn the vial upside down so the needle is inside the fluid and then pull the plunger down to draw in the correct amount of medication into the syringe. Draw this slowly until you get comfortable working with the syringes. If you draw too much medication, keep the syringe inserted into the vial and press the plunger gently to push the medication back into the vial until you have the correct amount in the syringe.

• The syringes show increments of .10ml or 10 units.

• After you have the correct amount in the syringe, remove the needle from the vial and then return the bottle back into the small box it came in.

Semaglutide or Tirzepatide: Store vial in the box in the refrigerator.

B12 (BioBoost): Store vial in the box at room temperature in a cool, dark place.

• The Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, and B12 BioBoost vials will come with a hard plastic seal on the tops of the vials. You must remove this cap by simply pressing it up with your thumb until it pops off. These tops do not need to be put back on once they are removed.

• Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are medications that require a titrated dosing schedule. This means that during the time you’re using the medications, you will need to increase the amount you take for the medication to remain effective. Some people build up a tolerance faster than others. There is no way of predicting exactly how often or when you will need to increase your weekly dose.

• To decide on if it’s time for you to increase the amount you take you will want to assess how well the medication is working, and not how much you are losing. Don’t make the mistake of increasing your dose only because you didn’t lose weight in a particular period of time.

• Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are both supposed to help reduce your appetite, limit how much you can consume per meal, and help to control cravings from carbohydrates. If you notice that these benefits are not as strong as they were or want them to be, then increasing the amount you take is probably a good idea. Be careful to not increase to fast because the risk of side effects becomes greater when you choose to increase your dose.

• You can also split your weekly dose into 2 parts and take it split throughout the week. This split dose can minimize some of the peaks and valleys experienced by the once-a-week injection methods. You can choose to space out and break up the amounts based on how and when you think you need the most support from the medication.

• Some people who are using 30 units a week prefer to use 15 units on Monday and 15 units on Thursday, while some people would prefer to use 20 units on Monday followed by 10 units on Friday. There is no right or wrong way to split your dose, you can play with this method to figure out what works for you the best.

Guidelines for increasing your dose below:

Semaglutide:

Semaglutide comes in a 2.5mg/ml potency from the pharmacy

• Each 10-unit increment on the syringe equals 0.25mg of Semaglutide.
• The starting dose is 10 units on the syringe.
• You can increase your dose weekly by up to 10 additional units compared to the previous week. You may choose to increase by less, but not more.
• The maximum weekly dose is 95 units.

Tirzepatide:

Tirzepatide comes in 10mg/ml potency from the pharmacy

• Each 10-unit increments of the syringe is equal to 1mg of Tirzepatide.
• The starting dose is 25 units on the syringe.
• You can increase your dose per week UP TO 10 additional units compared to the week prior. You can choose to increase by less, but not more.
• The maximum weekly dose is 150 units per week.

B12/BioBoost:

The B12/BioBoost is designed to be used as 1ml or 100 units per week

• You can use the entire amount in one injection or split this amount in half (0.5ml or 50 units) 2 times week.

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide:

• These medications are injected into fat which is referred to as subcutaneous (under the skin). The small needle needs to be inserted into fat and not into the muscle. Areas to consider injecting subcutaneous injections into can be abdomen (2 inches or more away from your belly button), flanks, glut.

• Use the alcohol prep pad or the 91% alcohol to clean the surface area of the skin you’ll be injecting. Once the surface area of the skin is cleaned, it is best to pinch the fat with one hand while injecting the needle with the other. Use enough force and go fast enough to get the needle into the body as fast as you can, which will minimize the discomfort of the injection.

• Once the needle is fully into the body press the lunger to inject all the medication into your body. Wait 2-3 seconds the remove the syringe. Once you remove the syringe you can recap the needle with the orange top and discard of it in the trash or a biohazard waste bid.

• Try to rotate the injection site periodically to avoid developing scar tissue.

B12/BioBoost:

• B12/BioBoost is to be injected intramuscular. The intramuscular injection sites can be shoulder, thigh, or glute.

• Use the alcohol prep pad or the 91% alcohol to clean the surface area of the skin you choose. Use enough force and go fast enough to get the needle into the body as fast as you can, which will minimize the discomfort of the injection.

• Once the needle is fully into the body press the plunger to inject all of the medication into your body. Wait 2-3 seconds the remove the syringe. Once you remove the syringe you can recap the needle with the orange top and discard of it in the trash or a biohazard waste bid.

• Try to rotate the injection site periodically to avoid developing scar tissue

Nutrition Plan:

It is important to remember that the key to a successful weight loss plan requires a nutrition plan that focuses on frequently eating small meals and snacks, adequate protein intake, and consuming nutritious foods. It is vital you lose weight from a slow, steady calorie deficit as opposed to starving the weight off. By not getting enough calories, you will lose muscle mass in the process of losing your weight. Muscle burns more calories than fat and enhances your ability to keep the weight off. Starving the weight off will slow down your metabolism and likely lead to gaining the weight back in time.

We don’t call the attached guidelines a diet for a reason. A diet is supposed to be temporary and usually something you can’t stick to for extended periods. This nutrition plan can be followed as a guide for your weight loss journey and to help you maintain your weight after you have achieved your goal.

• Accountability is one of the 6 pillars of weight loss (6 pillars of weight loss that we embrace in the Nuviva Medical Weight Loss plan – or similar?). We understand some of our clients need more accountability while others need less. We do not make it a requirement to “check-in” with the Nuviva At Home model. If you’re interested in check-ins, they can easily be scheduled weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. This allows you to speak to one of our coaches to enhance your experience here at Nuviva. Please contact the clinic upon receiving your package and schedule your first “check-in”. You can then determine what schedule is best for you moving forward.

• Please get a reliable scale that you can check once a week on the same time and day to monitor your weekly weight. We do recommend first thing in the AM after you have gone to the bathroom in as little of an amount of clothes as possible. Do not weight yourself daily. As weight loss can happen in spurts, watching this daily can give you a misrepresentation of your success or lack thereof.
